This chain was worn by Chapuys, the Spanish ambassador played by Bernard Hopkins, in a Man for All Seasons. It was designed by John Pennoyer.
I don’t know who made the cross because it was chosen from among the vast amount of jewellery in stock in the Bijoux room jewellery boxes, but it was definitely hand made.
I made the chain by drilling holes in brass oval shapes and then spray painting them black.
John chose the decorative gold and black shapes on top of the black brass ovals, which are actually decorative plastic buttons.
I drilled matching holes in them and then wired them to the brass ovals. I then strung the pieces together using brass split rings.
